In order to best serve our clients, Terramar Interiors works on an hourly fee basis. Please contact us for a proposal tailored to your specific needs. All projects start with our inquiry form, followed by an introductory phone call and paid, in-person consultation.

OUR PROCESS

  • The project kickstarts with an evaluation of your current space, followed by a series of discussions aimed at identifying the functional and aesthetic aspirations for space. We will have visual dialogue through a shared Pinterest board, and hone in on your personal style.

  • Together we will develop a design direction, draft a space plan and establish a budget to ensure the success of your project.

  • Our designers source and present full selections for finishes and fixtures, along with detailed design sketches and renderings (if desired) to help you visualize the proposed design.

  • Once the design is approved, we document everything in fine detail in order to communicate our vision to your builder. Plans and selections are finalized in accordance with the agreed design intent and presented in organized packages to hand to your building teams and begin orders.

  • Our team will begin purchasing and tracking shipments for furnishings and fixtures.

  • We will help review your GC bids and coordinate with the contractor through construction to ensure our design vision is executed.

  • With full service interior design, we are here to guide you through everything from concept to completion, including finish, furnishing, and lighting selections, along with the necessary drawings to hand to a contractor and ensure that everything is executed just as you’ve imagined!

  • If you’re considering a renovation or new build project, reach out to an interior designer as soon as possible! We are here to guide you through every step of the process, and the project will go more smoothly if we’re on board from the beginning. We can help you develop a budget, find your contractor, discuss realistic timelines, and of course- develop a stunning design!

  • The first step would be filling out our inquiry form, with as much detail as you’re able to provide. We’ll review your inquiry and schedule a 15-minute introductory call to get acquainted. Next, we’ll schedule an in-person consultation to determine project fit and brainstorm initial ideas. We offer 60-minute paid consultations at your project location for a walk-through of the site, which allows us to gather enough information to put a curated proposal together for design fees.

  • The design process typically takes 2-3 months from onboarding to a complete set of design drawings. From there, the design will be handed to a contractor for bidding and construction. Construction timelines vary based on complexity, contractor/subcontractor availability, and material lead times. Good design takes time, which is why we recommend assembling your team as soon as possible!

  • Soft costs are fees incurred in the construction of a building that are not directly related to construction labor and building materials. Soft costs include design and architecture services, subcontracted support services, and permitting fees. When planning your budget for construction, consider that soft costs will account for 25-30% of your project budget in addition to your build cost.
